Installation - YouTube Audience Retention (2016)

My 'New Media' Installation, aimed to explore the interactive behaviour of people watching videos online. Mainly focusing on video sharing platforms, such as YouTube. An interactive installation to engage the viewers with the data available, focusing on a transparent experience.

The methods used enabled the use of Arduino, through Processing, allowing the control of values from a Potentiometer sensor, which causes video jumping and movement of the slider bar. In addition to this, I printed 3D graph data, of YouTube's Audience Retention stats, from my own YouTube videos, of each category: Vlog, Reaction, Unboxing. This would be used as a physical object to enable further interaction between the user and the data. The function of the 3D models becomes a capacitive sensor, to switch between different videos through IPAC (Keyboard Encoder), using copper tape underneath each 3D model.
